About

For over 35 years I have been involved in design one way or another. Firstly in the cosmetics industry, then later in Floristry. I changed career in my 20’s, I decided to leave my office job and learn Floristry, going back to college and qualifying with Distinction. I still enjoy working on weddings and parties, decorating and designing small and large events, it is so satisfying to see client’s reactions when all the decorating is finished.
In 1999 I wanted to further my life long interest in plants and gardening (thanks to Grandad) by qualifying in Garden Design at Kingston Maurward college in Dorset. Clients tell me I have a natural ability in using colour and this is one aspect that brings me a lot of joy.

When I was a student I got to the semi-finals of Garden Challenge on channel 4 and soon after I created several show gardens – receiving my silver-gilt medal from Alan Titchmarsh was a delight!

Fortunately for me, my husband has also been in the horticulture business for 35 years, so he is my favourite go to project manager for making my designs a reality.  His career has included several Head Gardener posts on prestigious estates both in the U.K. and the U.S.A.

In 2018 I started The Head Gardener’s Wife, to design beautiful gardens and offer my floristry services for weddings as well as decorating events of all kinds.

I take great pride in ensuring my clients are happy with their garden or event and regularly check on gardens to see how things are developing and offer advice.

If you are looking for inspiration why not book an initial free garden design consultation.  Or perhaps you have an event or wedding coming up and don’t know where to start?
